ASTRO-FUZZ

I was looking my next pedal to produce as a classic reproduction and decided on the Astro-Tone Fuzz produces by the Astro Amp/Universal Amplifier Corporation in ‘66 and ’67. These boxes were made in New York City and were also rebranded for another New York based company Sam Ash music as the San Ash Fuzz Box. They were known as one of the first American produced fuzz pedals to feature a tone knob. I wanted to produce this for both the historical significance of this pedal and the fact that I read a story about an original unit being on sale on eBay for $3,245. This is a very Bright\ trebly fuzz with plenty of top end. Personally I feel this fuzz lends itself more toward rhythm then lead work.
